I know this may sound outrageous, but it will help the self-esteem and shyness....Most work-out facilities offer kickboxing, yoga, etc. Find the one that offers POLE DANCING classes. Don't freak, you don't have to become a stripper, but it's fun and you will meet interesting people. Besides you get a great work-out too.

I used to be very shy and somtimes I still am but I just started hanging out with my best friends and we all went together.over time I learned just to be myself and people started warming up to me. After a while I was more comfortable with going by myself. Sometimes thy just don't want to be your friend but hey life isn't perfect it has it's ups and downs. Definently don't try too hard because then they will think your desperate!Remminder: if things don't work for some reason then you always have somebody to talk to.
BEST OF LUCK!!!!!!!!!

Its just about you feeling comfortable enough not to be shy.
Shy is a charactersitic you have and if you badly enough want to get over it you can try and get through it.
I'm shy too, I've come along way. There is peole in my high school that haven't heard me talk before until I graduated.
