Before having my first child I always believed that the world was mostly good, that love would always prevail and the good guy always wins. I used to always give and feel it will be rewarded with good karma.

Now that I have a child (and he is my everything) I see the world as all bad. I feel like there are predators at every angle. I dont know who I can trust and feel like everyone is out for themselves. The people we are supposed to trust, we cant anymore. We cant trust clergymen, family members or even best friends!

Just taking a poll wondering...do you think the world is mostly good and corrupted by the few bad or vice versa??

Thanks for listening!

Mostly good.

We only hear about the bad things because of the media. They tell us all about the worst of humanity and we never hear about all the wonderful good things that people are doing.

It's good to be cautious, but start trying the "half-full" approach to life to be happier. Your son will benefit more.

I think that the world is what it is. It functions whether we will it or not. I believe that it is people who can be bad. We are most often selfish and almost always about self preservation. I'm not saying all people are this way. I just think that it takes alot of experience and life lessons to make someone good. A wise person is able to predict the consequences of their actions. They act according to what they know to be best for the most people. Sometimes being wise also includes self preservation.

It is a fact, the world has changed and bad flourishes under a lax legal system. You are correct in being very careful raising your child, there are predators galore, since the punishment does not fit the crime today, child predators should never be released from prison, since they habitually re-offend. I am glad that I do not have to raise my children in today's crime ridden society. You are better off to assume the world is mostly corrupted, it gives you the tools to protect your family.

No, the world is still basically good, as are most people. Of course there are bad people out there - but I think they are disproportionately portrayed in the media. Your best bet is to turn of the TV news. At first its difficult - you're afraid you're going to miss something important. You're not. If there's a genuine emergency that could affect you directly, the police will knock on your door and inform you.

It's strange that no one thinks the Bible might be a good source for the answer to this question. But after all, the answers have always been there in this book. It is so obvious, we think we have to go to the ends of the earth to find what's what. But dont forget the Answer to all the questions, at the end of the Wizard of Oz. "Dont forget, Dorothy, there's no place like HOME."

I think the world became more violent today than in 1980-90.
In my street the houses are like medieval castles, with dogs, big walls. Why? Who is more dangerous police or bandit? A poor thief who stole $ 100 or a big politician who got $ 100.000.000.000.000.000.000? Well the world is a hell but is the only one we have. So i love this world !!!

The world is great. Fantastic. I mean, if you're talking about near perfection, there you go.
The people in it are weak. They are. Weak and selfish, and though there is that capacity for altruism, they're too weak and selfish most of the time to go for that lofty goal.
The good thing is, Good will always win in the end, even if the people in this world go to pot. Boy, it's great having faith.

And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good...Gen.1.31............The world is still very good, though we're doing all we can to destroy it.........

.............This only have I found: God made mankind upright, but men have gone in search of many schemes. Ecc.7.29.........

Although God had made everything perfect, people are wicked now because they went after their flesh and forgot about God and all good that can only come from Him......AND also forgot that not only good, but also everything else comes from Him....

But God also created this; for there's only one Creator.....I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things...Is.45.7...

...And also....Who can speak and have it happen if the Lord has not decreed it? Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that both calamities and good things come? Why should any living man complain when punished for his sins? ...Lam.3.37-39....

....And it goes on and on....what can I tell you....He does everything, the one and only, our Maker....

It's up to Him....AND you!

Even though everyone thinks they're good, they're all bad. They're all protecting themselves.
