Also, where can I buy one?

No, it's not an etch-a-sketch, that is just gray with a little piece that you maneuver to make pictures. This is sand, with two colors that by turning it creates patterns-sometimes there is also a liquid in it.

We had one of those. Unfortunately, I don't know what it was called because I think my dad bought it at a garage sale! Ours had bluish-silvery sand. That was cool!

I found one here: http://cgi.ebay.com/Sand-Scene-Desk-Art-Horizon-Picture-Hinged-NEW_W0QQitemZ140080477376QQihZ004QQcategoryZ10034QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

And here's another one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Unique-Moving-Handmade-Gift-Craft-Sand-Art-Picture_W0QQitemZ170076463544QQihZ007QQcategoryZ57738QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

kaleidoscope, I had a very old one when I was a kid with mirrors, water, glass, and sand. They're a lot more high tech now I think, with lasers and mirrors and such.
