Former Redskin receiver Art Monk got denied Hall of Fame induction again. Monk was a leader on 3 Super Bowl champion teams, and finished with 940 receptions for 12,721 yards and 68 TDs. He had great hands and work ethic, was a tough blocker and a class act on and off the field.
By comparison, while Hall voters checked NO for Monk, they did induct prostitute loving, crack-smoking Cowboys WR Michael Irvin, whose career numbers were not as good as Monk's.
Nice.

Berryv1 must be drunk, fans have never had a vote for any sports hall of fame that I'm aware of. It is absolutely the sports writers that vote for who gets in the hall of fame, we're not talking about the Pro-Bowl or an all-star game here Berryv1.
No question Art Monk should've made the hall of fame his first year eligible. He had more catches and yards and just as many super bowls as Michael Irvin and more then Lynn Swann/John Stallworth combined.
Monk was the prototype for the big strong possession receiver and was a starter throughout his career. I guess if you aren't a Cowboy or Steeler you have a tough road getting into the Hall...at least Thurman Thomas got his due.

Because the guys who choose the HOFers are unqualified. I think only former player/coaches should decide (and there is not any more bias in that than there is now, just look at how many teams have a good amount more people in the HOF ---journalists can be influenced too).

If you watch the (or part of the) video on monk4thehall.com -- there's a section with MANY audio clips of the announcers for games (generally former players) saying things to the effect of "oh, Monk is a hall of famer for sure. I see him getting in on the first ballot" ---are all these people wrong and these WRITERS are right? I think not.

I'm totally with you on that one...Art Monk should be in the Hall right now, and will eventually be in.

Another stat you left out was that at one point he held the record for consecutive games with a catch. I think Jerry Rice broke it.

Maybe he wasn't good with the sportswriters??????

Micheal Irvin is also an awful commentator and should have been fired last year after his "friend" had crack in the car.

I agree, maybe Monkey should be in the HOF, and I know someday he will, but there are so many other people that are getting in its such a long list. Besides the HOF and the NFL is a disgrace for allowing MICHALE IRVIN to be included, sure helluva playa, but cmon this guy has serious issues with the hoes, crack pipes and harryoin, I just dont understand it. You may tell your kid if you work hard do crack , sleep with whores, get arrested, you will end up in the HOF someday. What a fu#ked up world!!!
