Hondas are vastly better cars than the focus or cobalt. The most common problem with Hondas and most other imports is owners neglecting to change the timing belt every 60,000 miles. Many get away with it, often up to 120,000 on the original belt, but many do not. Don't take the risk of destroying the engine to save a few hundred bucks. All cars will require oil changes, brakes, tires, etc. The Focus and Cobalt are not terrible cars. They are adequate, basic transportation that will get the job done. I would buy one if it was very cheap and in excellent condition. If you plan to keep the car for many years and put lots of miles on it, the Honda would be well worth it.

Sold it to get a bigger car to hold car seats I never had a problem ..
If you need to choose between a it and Focus GO HONDA I don't see it as a family car but mind was a two door and that may be why.
