I think you can work at one of the local parks as an playground associate. It is a great way to be outside and enjoy the summer weather. Try also applying to some local camps in your area as a junior counselor. I have found a list of some camps in Long Island (see below). I am not sure if this is helpful because I am not sure what part of Long Island you live in (Nassau or Suffolk).

You may also want to start your own little business of cutting grass. You can buy a used or cheap lawnmower and charge your neighbors. It is a great way to earn money and build a client base because during the winter you can be sure to make money by shoveling driveways. I hope this helps and good luck.

My dear, this is a common problem for teenagers. Illegal immigrants have swept up those types of "starter jobs."

My under 18 teenage boys cannot get jobs in stores stocking shelves or working in fast food restaurants. Locally, those jobs are held by non-English speaking people.

Many jobs come by "word of mouth". So ask the parents of your friends who work. Also telephone places that you WANT to work. Many employers do not advertise openings and you may have some luck that way.

Go to a mason or welding or body shop or plumber...work for whatever they will pay just to learn the trade...experience at 15 will be worth a skill as you get old......as long as your parents approve....good parents are worth listening to...avoid stores where you work for a paycheck and get no skills or college life experience credits.....a vet might need help too if you like animals...

you could practically work anywhere, though your hours will be limited cause of your age. Why not put an ad in the paper for babysitting? Or maybe deliver papers? Just some thoughts. Good luck to you.

Try getting a job at a movie theater. You can get free movie tickets along with your paycheck.
