what the hell? no you are not secure. In fact, just because the police officer didnt write you a ticket doesnt mean your off the hook. You are only off the hook when a JURY says you are innocent.

What was the person doing on the road? I'm sure the policeman checked you over to see if you were under the influence. Cars have the right of way. Was the person in a cross walk? People need to take personal responsibility sometime. I think you are okay except for the trauma that person cause you and the trauma you will experience for the rest of their life from hitting a person.

Whether or not the police officer gave you a citation has nothing to do with whether the person sues you. They can sue you for the amount of their medical bills, lost wages and possible pain and suffering depending on the law in your state.

Depends on the situation, but you did the right thing going back. You probably will get sued, but insurance will pay for it. Just be prepared to have your insurance sky rocket after this. . Hopefully you aren't on your parents plan, because they probably have more assets that they could lose in the event of a serious lawsuit.

I hope that the man you hit is alright.

The way the world is today, I would not be surprised if this person tried to sue you.
Even if it was not your fault, this person may try to sue.
However, your automobile insurance coverage should protect you.
First, your car insurance includes personal injury and personal liability coverage. (Coverage amounts vary.)
Secondly, you insurance company should provide you with legal counsel, if a lawsuit is filed.
You may want a copy of the police report.
If in doubt, contact a lawyer.

Anybody can sue for anything. It is up to the person you hit.

You would have faced serious criminal charges if you had not returned to deal with the incident. You did the right thing by returning.

First of all , pay a visit to him ,, take Flowers or whatever you think is fit for a sign of sorrow .

talk to him or his family about the things you can offer him to help
and tell them that you are welling to help as far as you can .. prove your good intention by all means .......

talk to them after that about the way you can resolve this in quiet & peaceful way ........

also , take an older family member with you or a friend while visiting him ,, don't go all by yourself ...

according to the results of this visit ,, ask a lawyer for advise

Good Luck

If it was me, I would sue you for anything I could, just because you left. How could you not know you hit someone? You hear a loud "THUMP" and thought well thats weird and kept going? I would guess you will be sued big time.
