I just got a call saying I am borderline...
what can i do to control this with diet only.
I am meeting wiht a specialist next week...but it just seems too far..and i need to start working on something as of now.
I am 28 weeks pregnant today.
what should I be eating
example of foods and portion sizes will help me alot
also what should I avoid
how much exercise should i be getting...
please help

I too am borderline, because of PCOS I was tested at 18 weeks. Here is the diet I follow, I received it from the nutririonalist at my perinatologist office. it is a 2000 calorie mealplan

Breakfast - 1 starch = 15g carb or less, 1 meat, 2 fat
example 1 slice whole wheat toast, 1 scrambled egg, 2 teasponn margaring

test blood glucose level 2 hours after finishing

Morning Snack - 1 starch = 15g carb or less, 1 Meat
example - 6 saltine crackers, 1 ounce cheese

Lunch - 2 starch = 30g carb or less, 3 meat, 2 vegetables = 10g carb or less, 1 fruit = 15g carb or less, 1 fat
example - 2 slices whole wheat bread, 3 ounces chicken salad, lettuce, tomato, 1 cup carrot sticks, 1 small apple, mayo in chickensalad

test blood glucose level 2 hours after finishing

Afternoon Snack - 1 starch = 15g carb or less, 1 Meat, 1 milk = 12g carb or less
example - 1 slcie whole wheat bread, 2 Tbsp peanut butter, 1 cup milk

Dinner - 2 starch = 30g carb or less, 3 meat, 2 vegetables = 10g carb or less, 1 Milk 12g carb or less, 1 fruit = 15g carb or less, 2 fat
example - 1/2 cup corn, 1/3 cup rice, 2 oz grilled chicken breast, 1 cup salad, 1/2 cup green beans, 1 cup milk, 1 1/4 cup whole strawberries, 1 Tbsp salad dressing, 1 tsp maragarine

test blood glucose level 2 hours after finishing

Evening Snack - 1 starch = 15g carb or less, 1 meat
example 6 triscuit crackers, 1 Tbsp Peanut Butter
