My view of such people is that they are closet gays and express their self loathing by projecting it outwards on to people with the courage to be themselves. They are very unhappy and frightened and we should try to treat them with compassion. They are living in the Hell they are so anxious to consign us to.
I know it is difficult to show them compassion but returning their hate only leads to more hate, we should try and treat them with patience and hope that one day they find their true nature.

because they are safe and secure in their own little world and don't want to grow as people, because if they grow their way of thinking may actually change heaven forbid they find out that they were wrong, which will rock their world and they can't stand to be wrong, they have to be right and that is all they have to feel superior to everybody else, they have a sad sad existance

Some people are so homophobic because they don't want to admit their inner feelings of homosexual thoughts.

Most that are homophobic have the fear that they might actually enjoy themselves in the act if they are confronted with it.
