The link you gave is a very good explanation of what slope is and how it is found; I do not think I can improve on it. What exactly confuses you?

Slope of a line is the ratio of the rise of a line to the run of a line. In other words, the change in y over the change in x.

(y1-y0) / (x1-x0) when given two points (x0, y0) and (x1, y1).

When a line is defined by the slope-intercept form of y = mx + b, m is the slope of the line, while b is the y-intercept, or where the line crosses the y-axis (where x = 0).

I hope this helps!
