I think Peyton Manning is awesome and amazing and would root for him no matter what (unless he's playing my team- the Steelers), but I do not think that he played that well to be named MVP in the Superbowl. Don't get me wrong, he did all right, but he didn't have a good enough performance to be MVP. I think that it should have been Dominic Rhodes. What are your opinions?

I personally think they shouldn't even give out an MVP to someone unless they really deserve it. just face it. EVERYONE on the colts played well, but no one played amazing. but if i had to choose, i'd pick either rhodes, addai, or manning. manning was picked because of his experience.

Peyton Manning deserved the MVP award because he did what he does best, and that is manage the game and being unselfish with the ball. Peyton Manning knew (remember Peyton Manning decides what play he is going to pick and has for a long time because the Offensive Coordinator Tom Moore gives him that decision because Peyton knows football better than any player that ever played in the NFL) that teams in the NFC did well running the ball right down the middle against the Bear defense, as well as the fact that the Bears defense give up the short pass yards because they are more concerned about the long pass, and he knew that if he tired down the their defense the better their chance would be to win. Don't confuse him playing safe and being unselfish for not playing well, he managed the game perfectly after the interception (which every quarterback usually gets in the Super Bowl) and was the main reason the Colts won, and while Rhodes, Addai, Sanders, and the Offensive Line deserve it as well Peyton was the one that made it happen the most. The city of Indianapolis (my hometown) and Indiana is going nuts! GO COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INDY! INDY! INDY!

Manning deserved MVP. He was shafted out of the Heisman race in college, lets not shaft him out of the MVP.

Without Manning the team would have never made it to the Super Bowl. Manning was the one calling the plays on offense, he did a great job of Reading the defense.

Sure there were other key players in the game. Addai had a great game. Truth of the matter is that Manning is the team leader and had the Colts lost ( no matter how bad Addai or anyone else played ) everyone would be talking about Manning not being able to win the big game and Manning losing the game. The most pressure was on his shoulders and he handled it very well.

Manning is without a doubt the Super Bowl MVP. His poise and leadership, not to mention passing ability was the difference in the game. You can only throw Rhodes' name into the mix if you do co-MVPs with him and Addai. Still, Peyton is undoubtedly the MVP.

I agree 100%. I was shocked when I saw that Manning was named MVP. He had a decent game but I thought Rhodes had an MVP performance!

After last night's game, I thought the Colt O-line should have split the MVP. Between Peyton's decent game and a very good running attack, that was what won them the game.

...that and Grossman blowing up as most people thought he would. However, I don't think he should be given the MVP either, though he should be considered as one reason the Colts won.

I think it should have been Rhodes and Addai. Addai had 10 catches and Rhodes was dominating. Manning was Manning. Without the running game we might have had a different outcome.

Joseph Addai was killing Chicago all night on key 3rd down conversions and running the ball. Had he not been replaced by Rhodes for most of the second half he was the front runner by far.

personally, i think everyone deserved a piece of the MVP.

of course, manning...who picked apart the bears with the short passes, and the offensive coordinator on the field, and got them to the super bowl with the comeback vs. pats....

dominic rhodes..who pounded against the bears.
joseph addai...who was all over the place.
the offensive line who dominated the line of scrimmage
kelvin hayden...who made that game-changing INT for TD
bob sanders...who made that game-sealer INT
the rest of the defense...

too many to name

I think it should've been someone who maybe doesn't get as much recognition as he should, such as Jeff Saturday. (he's my favorite) Don't get me wrong, I love Manning and the Colts, that's my team, I live in Indy, but it seems the same guys get all the praise and recognition. Some of those guys who tackle, tackle, tackle, and that's all they do, they never get any recognition for their efforts. The same ones get all the attention and awards. It's a team sport, but they always seem to single out a few, as it they did it on their own.
