Countess is honest. Be warned, I'm not goth so I can shop there. But the main thing is DOWN WITH PREPS!

omg that heart girl is a freak!...would you trust your clothing to some little teen who is "like totaly obessed with american eagle" lol....what a clone.
"Preps" as you label them are scared because all the people they shun shop there. and cause people call them preps and they are scared of anything different...that isen't owned by Hollister company....their logo is a seagul for **** sakes....enough said.
I love hot topic and i would consider myself on the edge of fashion ...if you look hard you can always find stuff thats cool and different then everyone else.

Honey, I'm a goth/metal head and I'll tell you right now that Hot Topic is crap. I don't care what preps think (you must be in highschool)
Hot Topic is owned by the same company as Abercrombie & Fitch, just has different designers. No real self respecting goth or metal head will shop there. We go to the real stores like Heavy Red, Good Goth, Fairy Goth Mother, and so on.
Hot Topic is just a poser store with over priced crappy looking clothing that markets on unsuspecting teenagers that hope to dub themselves as goth. It's a shitty store, overall.

Maybe because its the total opposite of their style. I'm not a prep, but I was a bit scared of going in their because the fact that it was so dark and crowded. But when I walked in, the people are actually really nice. Just shows, that you can't judge a book by its cover, not even a store.

they just arent used to those kind of people at hot topic, personally, i love the store, but i know that my friends dont becuz it just seems foreign to them...alot of preppy people like hottopic, so dont so that all preps are scared of it, it just depends on the people individually

EwWw....hot topic is gross because that is were goth people shop. They are not losers or dorks, but just plain-out weird. I would stick to Abercrombie, Hollister and american eagle
oh and i dont see anything wrong w/ preps!!

because they think if they go in there they will turn goth or something. They think the store is like hell, even though its just a store.

well i mean im a prep. but to be honest. it freaks us out because of the way they dress. i mean really.... skulls? chains? all black? whts the point to look gothic or freakish?
