Right now I am on a pretty strict diet and and have lost 20 lbs, I have 30 more to go and then I want to let my body "settle" for about six months before trying to get pregnant again. Ideally I would like to start ttc in October. I have been using withdrawal and natural family planning for the past 10 years and have never had a problem until recently. I had a miscarriage at the end of november and now I am worried about getting pregnant using just those methods. Any advice?

the pregnancy was unplanned and we were using withdrawal and natural family planning when it happened.

Please... NO OFFENSE.
"Withdrawal" and "Natural Family Planning" conjure up "Catholic" in my book. Which would preclude you from using any types of other birth control if you are a staunch, practicing Catholic.
Unfortunately, withdrawal and NFP are the LEAST effective methods of birth control... if they can even be called that. More like Russian roulette.
If you are willing to utilize birth control methods other than those, condoms are effective, but the reduce sensitivity for both partners and can break. Not a great choice.
The pill is becoming the most widely used and most effective method of birth control. However, recent studies warn about using the low-hormone dose varieties, as increased # of pregnancies are occurring with them.
Honestly, my wife and I are very very happy with a product known as VCF. I am still intact (waiting for insurance to have the vasectomy), and neither of us wants any more children. It does not inhibit sponteniety, nor interfere with intimacy or pleasure.
It has been a good product for us, and has met our needs without a problem.
Good luck!

if you are only going for 6 months before trying to conceive I would suggest options like condoms, spermicidal foam, a cervical cap or diafragm. I have heard of a clip that can be put on the fallopian tubes by your family dr if he/she does it. A friend of mine had that until she is old enough to have her tubes tied. Her dr did it in the office so she was happy that she didn't have to get it done it hospital. they can be removed when you are ready to start trying again to conceive.
In addition to these ideas I also suggest to go to your local family planning clinic or something of the like and speak to a health nurse about options that will work for you as not all will work for your own body. Plus the withdrawl method isn't exactly the best idea as pre-ejaculate contains enough sperm to get pregnant from.

particular, particular, particular! inspite of if it truly is the mini pill (progesterone basically) or the classic pill (estrogen and progesterone). The mirena iud is a magnificent determination and there is minimum absorption of progesterone from the iud into something else of your body. good fulfillment and congrats for making the type of healthy determination on your son! Get countless of help... breastfeeding ought to proper be now no longer straightforward contained in the starting up up, inspite of if it rather is larger available and bigger available than bottles as right away because the tutorial curve is over. And, for some, it merely is going truly from day a million.

Condoms would be best, or spermicides that can me inserted into the vagina before sex. That way, there is no "waiting period" and no problems when you guys do get ready to have a baby.

I wouldn't use any hormonal methods since you want to start TTC soon, I would get a diaphram or spermicide.

I would use condoms and BC, or condoms and spermicide (just just spermicide on condoms). Use 2 forms instead of one. Good lcuk

Ortho Evra is good. Easy to remember, no weight gain and no uncomfortable condom.
