It opens our eyes to the different ways that people live, to different beliefs, different systems (that all work). We learn things that we may never think about. I think that it has changed my beliefs about a few things learning of different cultures!

In my experience being exposed to other cultures has allowed me to realize that the information that formed my culture, while largely valid, is not the only information there is, and that I have a great deal to learn.

it helps to broaden your mind. a broader mind leads to understanding, understanding leads to acceptance, acceptance leads to inner peace.
so be selfish and learn about other cultures, it will point you down the path to happiness!
