first of all playing regular football and consistant performances ,if still at school playing for the school, getting into school county side, playing for local league club, all this attracts attension of scouts,if you play in several positions then its a must that you settle into one position and if you are invited for trials then you will have the oppurtunity of playing in varied positions.you can also write to various clubs including the league two sides as you progress if successful.have faith in your ability and take the knock backs and prove you are worth giving a trial.but do remember at the end of each season that you can be released or no offer of contract.dont aim sky high for the top clubs and be prepared to live away from home if successfull and remember that home sickness can play a huge part in what you do and how you cope with it.if school age have you got your parents blessings and approval if an invitation came along, without there support you might have a difficult time, contact your local club and try to speak to the yts players and other players more so the ones in the youth teams and reserves.

Having a talent for the game at about 10 years of age and playing in a local league is probably a good place to start. Also spend all your spare time practicing taking free kicks from outside the box like Beckham did!

If you need to ask, don't bother.
If you were any good your talent would have been spotted and you'd be signed to a club already.
