Get more rest at night. Try coffee or an energy drink in the mean time or get up and stretch or walk around, on your lunch break take just about a 20 minute nap, that should help also.

I take it, based on the category that you posted the question in, that a new little bundle of joy is responsible for the sleep deprivation.

(1) If your home situation permits, get the baby's father to do half the getting up in the middle of the night, assuming that he's not already. Hopefully, that is not the case.
(2) Take every reasonable opportunity to catch a little sleep. If the baby sleeps, you sleep too. If grandparents come to see the baby, although it may sound rude, take a nap while they are visiting. Sleep loss is cumulative in the short term. You have to make up for it. On the weekends, you and the child's father can take turns napping during the day.

(3) Try to get everyone into a routine. If the baby wakes up a different times during the night, try to get him (or her) to do this at the same time every night, perhaps by setting your alarm and getting to him a few minutes before he'd normally wake up.

(4) If the baby is waking in the middle of the night and he (or she) is not hungry or needs changing, perhaps there is something you should have a doctor take a look at. My daughter had chronic ear infections and, after having tubes put in her ears, she began sleeping through the night.

What ever the reason, it will pass eventually.

Have caffeinated drink... pop, coffee, energy drink !

If caffine is not an option you can also try:

1) Go to the bathroom and wash your face with cool water.
2) Take a quick walk out to your car ...without your coat! If your in a chilly area of the country that may wake you up.
3) Get in to a deep conversation with a smart coworker.Discuss sports or politics!
4) Call one of your credit card companies and request a lower interest rate!
5) Call your mom and have a chat !

I'm not sure how true this is, but I read somewhere that eating an apple is supposed to wake you up the same way that coffee does. Maybe you could give that a try, it would certainly be a lot healthier than drinking coffee.

Get help so you can catch more sleep even if just a nap after work or someone to help with the baby during the night.

Just remember to say "Amen" when your co-worker walks up and wakes you. Or, say "They told me at the blood bank that might happen".

I can't take a nap at my job because my boss snores too loud!

Gosh, if you find out let me know!

But seriously, try getting more sleep at night...or take a nap at lunchtime in your car.
