Yes, both savings and checking. Establish a joint account with your mom or dad, with your social security number, (not your parent). Then both of you are "signers" on the account and you can write checks so long as you have sufficent funds in the account.

Note that you are both liable for whatever checks the other one writes.

You can have a savings account but you have to be 18 to have a checking account
