My wife had implants some 20 years ago that were made by Dow-Corning. After about 14 tears they ruptured and she had to have them removed and replaced. Now we suspect that there might be a problem again. We were sent a form and we filled it out saying that we wanted to opt-in to the class action suit but we have not heard anything else. I have tried in vain to get some leagal help but no local attourneys are willing to take the case. Maybe some one out there has some information that will help or have a similar situation. Are we just S.O.L or is there something we can do to see if she can get what is rightfully hers under the settlement? Any info would be welcomed. THANX

I know of a law office that handles class actions and I know that one of the cases is a Breast Implant case. I'm not sure how far along the case is... I don't think it has been to trial yet, but I could be wrong. Anyway, contact them and see if it's an action you qualify for. It's called Gary, Naegele, and Theado and you can find their contact info here: http://www.gntlaw.com/contact.shtml

As for the class action you were involved in... I don't know if it's the same one as this firm's, but if it's not, you are entitled to some of whatever money your firm has won so you should contact the law firm and just ask how the case is going or what happened to it.

Did you keep a copy of your notice? The notice should tell you who the class attorneys are and what court the action is in. Please be aware that it sometimes takes a long long time for the attorneys to work out the details of the settlement and then for the court to approve it.

Bottom line, thought, if you want to know the status you need to contact the attorneys for the class. If you don't have a copy of the notice you could search the internet for "Dow-Corning breast implant class action" or something like that.

I'm sure you can find some ambulance chaser to take your case. But since your wife volunteered for the boob job, she should have known the risks.
