Okay, today I was promoted. SUPER excited! The only thing was the salary is being negotiated, so I don't know how much of an increase I will recieve. What is the average promotion??? It's not just a typical raise.... I will be currently doing what I do, but they have added a supervisor position to my job. (So my title changed). I am currently making around 37k.... What should I expect as an increase???

(I work for my local gov't...so I know it won't be much!!!) LOL

If you work in goverment, you can get the GS schedule for pay grades. Are you changing your pay grade?

In industry, a one-step promotion is typically 10-15% increase in salary.
