My copy of The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion isn't working and its brand new any suggestions?

dude i love that game and this is what i did, go to hollywood video rent the game take all of the stickers off it and put them on your scratched disc and then return it that same day to the store and tell them the disc is to scratched to play and that you decided to rent another game anyways problem solved new disc and another game to play for a bit hahaha it always works done it with saints row and lost planet (i srcatched my lost planet day 1 sucked so hard!) if not everyone elese will tell you to use one of those disc repair kits blah, thier like 20 buck ans work marginaly well as the ones at the video store they spen hundereds of dollars for thier cleaning stuff so yea i'd go that route

First make sure it's not a label side scratch. If it is, then it's dead. If it isn't, then you have a solution.

Buy a SkipDR. Both the manual or the "AutoMAX" version will work. It should fix it perfectly. I had a Halo 2 disk which didn't play anymore and now it works perfectly.

or it might be a DVD and you have a CD drive or vice versa.
or, if it's scratched, take a bit of white toothpaste (not gell!) and use a lint free cloth to wipe it from inside to outside like the spokes of a wheel.
also, make sure your system can handle the game
