It all comes down to education or lack of it. A lot of homophobes change when they discover that one of their own kids is gay. These people always amaze me. They know there are millions of gays in the world, yet never in their wildest dreams do they ever imagine that one of their own could be gay.

Sawyer; you might be fooling yourself, but you’re not fooling anyone on this site. You can’t change your sexuality. You are a guy who’s so far back in the closet you’re in Narnia. Liked your aviator picture, very homoerotic isn’t it (wonder what made you pick that photo). I looked at your 360 profile and your real pictures. I don’t mean to be rude, but all that was missing from those pictures was the piano and candelabra. Sorry mate, but you look as camp as hell.

Pro-gay yes. Gay no. People who knew me before I was out that were homophobes now because of me accept some. So yes I would say about 50 people give or take 10

No. After the first few years, Gwen and I ceased to bother inviting or speaking to her family. If you wanted an example of hatred, they would be mine.
I'm sure that some of them must have been ill or suffered in some way. This went on for 42 years and even after Gwen's death.

Quite truthfully, I never tried. Homophobes bore the hell out of me, prove themselves to be just short of idiots within about 5 minutes. Why would I want to waste my time being around one? I have found that homophobes hate does not stop with homosexuals..it extends to racism, ignorance in so many areas that they are just hard to tolerate, let alone be around.

Not really, but I did wear down a Catholic college student in California in Yahoo's news discussion so that he could see that gays aren't hedonistic Satanists like he'd been taught, but real people just like him. Sometimes I think if I don't do anything else in this life, that was enough.

Yes, I went out with a guy who wasn't quite sure about his sexuality, and he kept leading me on until one day he said that he thought that he was gay and we broke up. Trust me, it is one of the worst feelings in the world because I thought that maybe I was so ugly that he "turned" gay because of me.

No. I've only helped those that really wanted to listen, but I wouldn't have called them a homophobe to begin with, just horribly misinformed.

i've certainly managed to wear down several and change their minds on a few points, at least make them more tolerant. it's usually not the sort of shift that can happen in one conversation. i just do what i can whenever i can.

If homophobes listen to themselves they might see that they are gay themselves.

But to answer your question... no.
