Sorry to hear that!, the best thing you can do is get rid of Norton(complete drain on resource's) I would recommend Panda antivirus 2007 if you want to buy a different product, ebay sell them dirt cheap (£6) does more than Norton and is better at it!. If you want free software try out AOL internet suite it is free from aol site and was written by Kaspersky and managed by them, i have seen good results with this product, only one niggle, there appears to be a loophole for spam. i use this product on 12 machines that i manage, very few problems also if you go for free try zone alarm free for firewall(excellent) spybot search and destroy, Lavasoft se personal and a program named ccleaner(crap cleaner) very good registry cleaner all products are free that i have listed. give them a go your machine will run better.

you have learnt the hard lesson that never open e-mails that you think are spam because no bank contact you by e-mail,have you got norton fully running on your pc its called spam gaurd,i have had norton 2004/05/06/07 and never heard of this .about norton security,as stated by other answers you might have used an unsecured web site or had a bogus phone call

Are you sure it was your Bank that called ?

In my experience they only find out theres a problem when you tell them .. (how exactly do they know it wasn't you using the account ?)

However there is a REALLY nasty trick the criminals use - they phone you pretending to be your Bank and then get your PIN out of you with the 'need to verify your Identity' trick .. = it goes like this ...

'Can you give me first and 3rd digits of your PIN Sir ? ......sorry, that's not accepted - can you give me the second and last digits ? ..... Sorry, that's not accepted either - we have been having trouble with our Computers - don't worry, your account is safe, we will send you a new PIN in the post ... "

Needless to say, in answering the above 2 questions you gave them all 4 digits ....
