I was supposed to have my period over a week ago and I have been super cranky or wanting to cry. I have four daughters from 19-11 so I am not inexperienced with pregnancy. But I had a tubal ligation 6 weeks after my last daughter was born over 11 yrs ago. Do you think its possible that I am pregnant or could it just be stress? I think I am going to pick up a test after work.

The video the doctor showed me before the belly button surgery showed these plastic looking clips that they just clamp over the tubes.

OK I did some research and I did find that they DO in fact use clips for tubals, this is what I found....
Clips that look like tiny barrettes can be placed across the tube to obstruct it. These damage the smallest segment of tube and are considered the most reversible technique, but tend to have a higher failure rate.

It is probably stress. Depending on the type of tubal you had, it is a VERY slim chance of you being pregnant. I had a tubal 6 years ago, pregnancy free still....

Yes it is possible. I work in the OR as a surgical tech and have seen it happen many times. They don't use plastic clips either, a tubal ligation is done with free ties (ligatures). They tie them around the tubes using hemostats. It is possible, a tubal ligation is really only good for about 5 years then the percentage of getting pregnant increases.

When I had my tubes tied, my doctor was very clear that on rare occasions, the tubes could re-grow and become patent again, leading to pregnancy. You didn't state your age, but since you have a daughter who is 19 years old, I would presume you're somewhere in your 40s. Have you considered the possibility that you are in fact beginning to go through menopause? Either way, I would certainly get a preganancy test and take it; obviously if it's positive, then you're pregnant, but if it's negative, you may be starting into menopause. Either way, it's probably a good idea to check with your doctor.

I've heard of it happening on freak occasions. I've saw a thing a few years back of a couple who were expecting after the father had a vasectomy and the mother had a tubal ligation. get a test! you should post again once you get the results!

why havent' you taken a test yet? if you've gone 3 months without a period shouldn't you have taken a test after you missed it the first month. You could be preg depending on what procedure they did if they just tied them then there is a good possiblity and if they were burned then its a much smaller chance, but still a chance. If the test is neg go to the doc and maybe get some bloodwork done to find out what is going on. good luck

Now everyone can cure infertility using this natural remedy http://pregnancyhelps.info
infertility can run in the family and one of the first things the doctor asks you when you go to a fertility clinic is your family history regarding cases of infertility or other reproductive issues.
If infertility is caused by genetic disorder then it's not unusual that one of the kids (your mom) doesn't have it and another does (your aunt).
two months of trying is still to early to be concerned about the fact that you might be infertile and it's also quite early to go to a fertility specialist. Go to a regular Obgyb to get a closer insight and see what ways there are are to improve your fertility rate.
Also remove alcohol, caffeine and cigarettes from your life because they might influence your chances too. Stress is also a risk factor when it comes to infertility.

yes it is possible after a tubal to become pregnant but i think one of the big questions that you need to be asking yourself is "WHO IS THE FATHER". with living a swingers lifestyle it would be hard to tell just exactly who the father is unless you plan on testing every man you have been with in the past month.

It could happen but usually it's rare. I don't know how old you are but maybe it could be menapause starting? Or maybe just a change in hormones? Stress could definitely cause you to react this way. If it continues I would ask your doctor.

Could very well be, I had a miscarrige in November after having had my tubes tied in June 2005, and am late again ( but have not tested yet lol)

** IF you were just clamped and not cauterized then the clips can come off!
