lets just say you were raped...And you are going to sue the person for time lost from work and pain and suffering. Would you rather the person pay you off out of court and know what this guy did and he just go to jail unpublicisized? It is for people to know that this person(or company depending on case) did wrong and it is so the perpatrator will have to feel bad once it is in the public. It is a good punishment to publicisize it because it truely makes them see what they did wrong so htey wont do it again

Trial of the guilty by the public(more likely to have harsher punishments if the public knows what is going on. Can even help the innocent charged with crime)
Survivor is getting old, need better reality TV, lol.

It makes no difference to what goes on in court. The publicity is strictly so someone can make money.
