I'm a forestry worker and you may be looking at around 2 to 3 hundred quid but the price can vary if the tree is near buildings, banking's,or any complication then the price will go up as the risk increases. You must use qualified tree surgeons and unfortunately their not cheep but you know the job is done right and professionally. When you check them out ask for credentials regarding training and insurance. The training should be to NPTC standard. The monkey puzzle is a beautiful tree, so unless it is dangerous please don't drop it! I know these trees well and know that they are not dense light blockers but yes they get big but they can be controlled through crown reduction so please consider this option. Don't kill a healthy tree because your fed up with it!

I disagree with the guy that said it is a hundred dollar job. Those things are like razor blades. A 30 footer removed, I would say 250 to 300 dollars. With nothing left, but a nice clean place where it was so that you can plant anew..

do you have permission to fell the tree. some authorities don't allow healthy trees to be cut down. price varies dependant on location. how easy it is to remove etc. you should contact your local authority first. then i would get a few quotes. sorry cant be more precise.
