I have to go to England, next year, because I have a competition in English, so I will stay there 3 weeks. but I am really scared, because I heard that the british are very strict, and if your english is perfect they would say it's decent. well, is it true? My dream is to live there an to work there, but I am not sure will the british accept me.
P.S. If an British can answer me this question I would be very happy.

well I am English.
you will find that 99% of us are really nice people, who will be really nice to you! places like London are a real melting pot, all sorts of people from all over the world just getting on with normal life.
you will be ok!
we are not only known for being prim and propper you know... we are also known for being wildly excentric and totally batty!
well some of us are...
we don't bite.
you will have the time of your life!!!!

Hi Im from England, and moved to the states a couple of years ago.
The english are not strict, you will love it over there, the culture is so different from america, even though our countries are very simular. Make sure you try fish and chips though, and go and watch a football match......enjoy yourself in England :)

no the term is proper.
english by tradition are prim and proper.
in proper use of the english language is frowned upon still but only by upper class aristocrat types, dont sweat it most of the people will see you for what you are if you are sincere, dont be afraid just do.
I am an aussie but have lived over there for a short time..

Most Brits do not speak perfect English. Don't worry about it, your English seems fine to me.

Don't worry so much about what they think of you if you live there. If Madonna can do it I'm pretty sure you can as well.
