For oily skin like yours, NEVER EVER try cheap brands like CoverGirl, Maybelline, Revlon, Loreal, etc...no matter how many minerals or H2O approved they are. You should try the best quality brands like Clinique or Shiseido. They are the absolute best for sensitive skin types.

Cheap makeup never stays on! Invest a little more money and you'll get what you pay for. I've been a makeup artist for 5 years and worked for/tried many brands. My favorites are: Laura Mercier (oil free foundation, found at sephora) and Colorescience (a great mineral makeup from the original inventor of mineral makeup-what i use on myself and most clients).
My rule...Never spend under $30 on a foundation. If you need to save money do that on your eye/lip makeup but never on your face makeup and skin care!
And for the record: Clinique is not a quality brand...it's the cheapest of the department store brands...it barely deserves to be there! I'd rather put Ajax on my skin!
And yes, you do need to hydrate your skin. If you don't use a moisturizer your skin will keep producing more oil to compensate. Use one that is made for oily skin.

The first thing you need is a good skin care program. I highly recommend Pro-Activ. It works.

Then you need a good makeup that helps control and tone down oils. Clinique is a great makeup for that.

You can go to the Clinique counter at your local mall and they will give you a complete makeover, helping you pick out the best foundation for your skin color and oiliness.

My daughter has very oily skin and both these brands have helped her alot. Her skin has cleared up and the makeup looks flawless.

Try Mineral Makeup- Everyday Minerals, they have a website. Also, Clinique has really good oil free foundations. Go to thier cosmetic counter and ask someone there what would be best and what shade.

Also, you may want to change what your washing your face with or what moisturizer you are using. You should be using ones specifically for your oily skin.

Good Luck.

Gotta start from the beginning.1. a good facial cleanser and toner 2. let face dry. use oil free moisturizer. Let dry ,3. then try your make-up. If it still too shiny, try physicians formula mineral make -up, I really enjoy that brand . in the cleanser I use cetaphil , they also have a moisturizer , wherever you shop they might have the store brand , check lables to see if is the same , might save some big bucks . Hope this helps!!

I also have very oily skin. I actually use Avon's version of Bare Minerals. It works amazing! (I sell avon, so that is how I started to use it) I don't use a mositurizer because that makes my skin worse. I don't know who thinks we should, they obviously do not have issues with oily skin lol.
