What line? Where? I didn't see any line. I always wondered what that meant.

I am not sure where the crossed the line metaphor came from, but I am guessing it had something to do with a feud.

as in went too far all the time, in fact I'm so far over the line I can't see the line anymore-it's just a little dot on the horizon

yeah, i did when i as younger and i broke the most expensive glass in the house. That counts as crossing the line doesn't it? i think it means when you push someone over the edge.

It means going over the limit you or someone else has set for you.Example,,I know I shouldnt drink more than 2 beers or Ill fall down & your parents said stick to your limit at the wedding party & you had 4 & fell down,,lol.
