Dear Disco Girl,

Yes there are differences between the two versions of Visual Studio.

Let me state few examples in which Visual Studio 2005 makes a Disco Girl's less difficult.

The HTML designer has been greatly enhanced. For example when adding user controls to your page, the new Designer now shows you how the control will be rendered in a browser. This is in contrast to the grey box that used to appear in Visual Studio 2003's HTML Designer.

As you know also ASP.NET 2.0 supports master pages. Visual Studio 2005's HTML designers also lets the developer check the page and displays its layout taking into consideration the page's master page.

The above are only a few examples of enhancements you will witness as u start developing ASP.NET applications with VS 2005.

Thank You.

Yes. VS 2005 fully supports the ASP.NET 2.0 features of master pages, themes, etc.

I agree...2005 took all previous ideas and made them truly functional and workable. The master page/themes/style sheet is only one example (though a good one) of the improvements. Basically, if you can think of something that you've had difficulty with in 2003 it has most likely been corrected or improved in 2005.

The primary difference is the version of the .NET framework. THere may be syntax differences as well because of the framework differences.
