It can be tough, but you have to learn to make yourself concentrate, since there's nobody around to tell you what to do when, anymore. One thing that might help is getting together with some other kids from your class for study sessions. Another thing that might help is setting aside time each day to study, and study in the library or some other place where you won't be distracted by friends/phone/email/etc.

First of all, congrats on choosing higher education. It can be extremely difficult to concentrate as a new college student as there are hundreds of distractions. You are not alone. I would recommend making yourself a study time-table. For example, study a particular subject for x number of hours on a particular day. You now have to become independent and learn to discipline yourself. This is a skill no one can teach you but will serve you well for the rest of your life.

Do you have members of the family that can help. Concentration is a form of self-will. Try to centralize your attention and stay focused on your subject, it is worth it especially when you pass your exams . Good luck , Try keeping a crystal quartz near your study area because it will help you to concentrate.

Discipline is where it's at bro. I had to join the military before I went to college to find that out, and getting that discipline on your own can be mad hard. So I guess the only way to do something is just that, you just gotta do it; if you need to study for three hours you just need to make up your mind that that is what your going to do. I guess it comes down to the old saying how do you eat a whale? Answer: one bite at a time.

Hell I think that would make my life easier. It should be easy to concentrate in school when there are no distractions.....just understand that you have a reason for being there and dont screw up. Think about your future.

Welcome to the real world. You are now officially responsible for your life.
One of the standard techniques is to make a schedule - so much study and work time for this course, so much for this, a certain amount of time for play - and then stick to the schedule.
People who can't find ways to make themselves focus on the work of college usually end up not graduating - -a waste of time and money and ability. You have the ability - you got in.
But no one is going to do it for you.
If you college has a counseling program, or a mentoring program, they may have more specific hints or ways they can help. But ultimately - you are the one who has to make it work.
