Is this a prank? Someone else aaked about rat poison a minute ago....
YES. Poison is poison. Rats can be very big.

Call your vet. If you can't get the vet, call the ASPCA POISON CONTROL HOTLINE.

HERE IS THE INFO FROM THEIR SITE:
As the premier animal poison control center in North America, the APCC is your best resource for any animal poison-related emergency, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. If you think that your pet may have ingested a potentially poisonous substance, make the call that can make all the difference: (888) 426-4435. A $55 consultation fee may be applied to your credit card.

Next time your dog eats something which is clearly labeled "POISON" I suggest you call the vet, or the aspca as opposed to a group of a people on a site called "yahoo".

BTW Call soon, If the dog suffers and dies you will be charged with dog cruelty.

Now go make that phone call, every second counts.

Yes he can die!
He needs to get to a vet ASAP and get the antidote. You must see exactly what substance he ate and tell the doctor, so that the correct antidote can be given (usually vitamin K). You must do that immediately, even if he has no symptoms, because rat poison works in his body and can cause serious damage within a few days.
There is also a helpline for animal poisonings or you can call the vet, but it's better to get there ASAP.

Oh my goodness...well YES and you can too!! It's not called poison for nothing. How do you know the dog has ate any? Is there signs of the dog being sick? If you think it did then yes you need to see a vet and then take up the poison ASAP before it happens again.

read the label from the poison. it usually has a phone number on it. call that number, and if they say there is nothing they can do, call your veterinarian. They usually have a medicine that'll make the dog puke the bad stuff up. That may cost quite some money, so that is why you check with the company first. Also, make sure you keep the box until your dog is better in case the vet needs to see what brand and product it is.

Yes but not a quick painless death. A slow agonizing death. Rat poison causes the blood not to clot and it will eventually bleed out internally in about two weeks. Get him to a vet. He needs a blood test and Vitamin K shots. Don't lose your beloved pet because of being stupid like I did. Go to the vet asap.

Seriously...?

Anthing can die from eating any type of poison.

When you go to the vet, leave your dog. You don't deserve one if you have to wonder about rat poison making your dog sick.

get him to the vet NOW it causes the blood not to clot and they can bleed internally. the vet will have to flush the dogs system as best they can. it's best to get them to the vet within a few hours of ingesting it. it gives them a better chance of survival. i hope your dog is okay.
