what would you talk about if the subject of a presentation was 'anything ya want' in my opinion its pointless but it has to be done!!!
it must be 5 minutes long she said 8 A4 pages would be just about enough!!! and its hard to write 8 pages on anything an then memorise it! coz were not aloud any notes!!

Pick a topic you are passionate about. Say, in your case: APATHY.

And then describe passionately your feelings about apathy.

OR

you could write about "how high can I count in five minutes" and then start "1, 2, 3, 4, ..."

Although YOU might get stuck after 1 minute 47 seconds.

I am almost positive that you have not been told to do a 5 minute presentation that consists of 8 pages of A4!! That number of pages would probably run in to more like 40 minutes. Are you sure you tutor didn't mean 8 Power Point Presentation slides???? I think you should discuss a topic that interests you and that is related to your degree subject so that it isn't a complete waste of time.

omg at least you can do it on 'anything' - i had to do it on some third world text for half an hour. First of all take a deep breath and think about all the things you enjoy talking about - it could be movies, music, games, a favourite book etc etc. Now think... could you talk about that particular thing for 5 minutes? If yes then choose it. I think somebody might have already mentioned it but you could choose global warming and then add diagrams. Maybe even get the class involved and hand out questions and make them discuss certain points with you. Good luck anyway!

then talk about something you are already familiar with - I'm sure you don't have to memorize it word for word. Think of something you lik - TV show, music band, a film or type of films. Or fave place to hang out. ideal holiday, career. dreams etc. Mak it something fun and thn you won't dins it a chore at all. but trydoing this on each of those 8 sheets write 2 mjor themes - so if you talked about a band 1 theme could b their last album, 1 theme could be your favourite member, 1 theme could b the gossip or hype etc. whn you break it down into chunks you'll find it easier to think of things to say. Might seem pointless but I think your teacher is really trying to challenge your individuality.

I'd do a presentation on astronomy, since that's a subject I really love and know a lot about. What do you know a lot about? Cars? Cats? TV shows? Music? Fashion? Cooking? How to deal with annoying little brothers? There's got to be something you talk about for hours!

How I would wish for such an easy presentation! This must be some type of communications or speech class.

It is not about specific topics they are interested in. It is all about the way you begin to feel comfortable in front of people.

In the business program it is all about presentations....and they are not easy.

Id do it over presenting in general. That way, you could just read over your presentation as a checklist to make sure you have everything. I used it once for a BS assignment like yours...it got laughs and theres tons of information.
