I'm not young nor without friends but I use myspace daily and put it to good use keeping in touch with friends and making plans to meet for various activities. The simple reason it works and other similar platforms don't is that EVERYBODY has myspace. You can't say that of Yahoo or MSN or anybody else. I wish I had invented myspace!

I am not nearly as addicted to MySpace as I am to Answers, but MySpace serves a purpose and is a great way to meet people and keep in touch, unlike Answers.

I got addicted to MySpace simply because I found so many old high-school and college classmates whom I've lost touch with, and MS got me back in touch with them. I don't have a single MS friend who's someone I don't know personally (except for bands and comedians). I don't use MS to make new friends.

Great way to keep in touch with your friends and feel like you are staying connected without having to make a million phone calls a day. Old friends from high school rather than getting lost in the mix are there if you ever want to talk to them, you know where they are at.

Because us people with MySpaces love having our own personal thing, without pesky older OR younger siblings we have to share with.

Well maybe its because everyone that doesnt have many friends or none at all think myspace will help them get friends. Instead they could be out trying to make friends. But thats just my opinion.

because youth are easily suckered into the "in thing" which myspace has become. It's not important at all

I honestly don't quite undertand it either. I get on there, check my messages/comments and bulletins, but I quickly grow bored with it. I find yahoo answers much more addicting.
