A United States of Europe is not on the cards. It is a flight of fancy. Unlike the USA Europe has at the moment 27 completely different states, and even some of those states have different nations within them, e.g the UK with England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland and Spain with Catalonia, Galicia, Andulacia and the Basque Country. A USE would never work. The main concern of the EU will be to standardise and increase human rights and promote trade within the members of the EU.
Those that go on about the muslim populations in Europe should realise that France, Spain, Germany, the UK and the Netherlands have large muslim minorities. But the majority are true muslims and despise the violence carried out in their name, but are relieved that their situation is being brought to the puplic attention.
As for the EU, institutional changes should be made such as the EU Parliament being given more power and the Commisioners being elected by the population of the home country and for them to be answerable to the Parliament as well as the European Council.

Hello, this is just my opinion.
The European Union will remain the European Union for the next 500 years. The current taxation distribution, 3% to the EU and 97% to the local state, will remain about the same for the next 150 years. OK , all of this is if the Euro survives. If the Euro dies off, then there might be a Northern EU and a Southern EU. After 500 years the planet would have ventured a situation in which the planet is so global that EU taxation will go into 30% EU and 70% local State. This will impact the EU and maybe transform it into USE. No immigration problem, since immigrants move only if they can get paid more, a job and speak the language. Africa will have decent pay and good weather. Basically they will not show up, excluding some willing to go to the UK to practice English. Try right now to convince a Polish carpenter to work in France. He just doesn't want to put up with learning French.

The United States remains, for the moment, the most powerful nation in history, but it faces a violent contradiction between its long republican tradition and its more recent imperial ambitions.
The fate of previous democratic empires suggests that such a conflict is unsustainable and will be resolved in one of two ways. Rome attempted to keep its empire and lost its democracy. Britain chose to remain democratic and in the process let go its empire. Intentionally or not, the people of the United States already are well embarked upon the course of non-democratic empire

the ecu Union became into shaped and exists in general to permit the small international places in Europe to be aggressive against u.s. and the some distance East. The international places are nonetheless unique and could in all probability stay so for an prolonged time. Their customs and languages and so on. would be a lot harder to alter. in addition they band mutually for risk-free practices, albeit loosely. No i do no longer see a u . s . a . of Europe. they're fortunate to have what they do in the ecu.

Europe will become totalitarian again with Germany taking over, just like in WWI and WWII. The French will kill themselves in a rush to surrender. The Italians will fall in, head over head, again. We and England will pull out the other countries. Russia will play both sides against the other. Ireland will side with Germany as they did during WWII. Swizerland will continue to be the pimping john for monies from both sides.

Wealthy European countries will become bogged down in multiple layers of high tax schemes, ever-increasing public entitlements, and non-integration of increasing floods of Muslim immirgrants. Disenfranchised citizenry will grumble and gain steam, entrepreneurial spirit will embolden, and "New Europe," with few entitlement and immigration problems, will grow rapidly as disgruntled young western Europeans head to new EU states to set up shop and households.

The Fourth Reich. With the growing Muslim populations, the Europeans will realize that in order to preserve their culture and freedoms, they will have to radically alter the size of the Muslim populations.
It will eventually become a fascist expression to eliminate the growing threat. It's not like they don't have a history of hating and oppressing and exterminating undesireable peoples.
