If everyone answers you it will be about 28 million people. It is BY FAR the number one program with an average adult rating of 18-20% of the adult population. For comparison, Greys Anatomy is about a 13-16 and everything else is below a 10. The number one comedy Two 1/2 Men is only a 5-7 rating. Its a jugernaut!

According to the ratings a lot of people. I watch when there is nothing else on and there's nothing online i need to do.
Entertainment goes like this for me...
Web then Music then Movies then TV shows then books.

I've been forced to watch it once, and I do not understand it's draw. Really, I don't. A friend of mine I watched it with, he is now very successfull in his career, making millions and he explained to me that he enjoys seeing people that have come from nothing make something of themselves much like he did. I still don't care for the show.

I watch it and I love it when people that can't sing go on there that can't carry a note and think that they can sing.
Then there are those that sound awesome and make it.
