I think everyone is really emo coz the emo stands for emotional and each person has a certain ammount of emotion in them even if some ppl are cold and horrible, right?..lol.
But I guess here ur meaning 'emo' as in a teen who wears mostly black, black nail pollish, listens to emo/pun/rock music and is kind of a loner. I think that those teens are just ppl who are really asking for attention and I don't mean that in a bad way, coz I know that some ppl say that and think that 'emos' are all oh look at me I'm so depressed. but u know what? I think those ppl need to show some empathy. These kids, people, whatever u wanna call 'em coz I know their of different ages sometimes even though their mostly teens, are just expressing themselves the only way they know how. I think their trying to show people that their well,...Not Okay. Like the song from the 'emo' labled band My Chemical Romance suggests, But who isn't? I mean ppl are messed up. The worlds messed up so how can we not be? Everyone needs a theropist and theropists need theropists for god's sake. Were ALL not ok. So, to be honest with ya..I dunno if I can give u a straight up answer. It's all too complicated, but I can tell you this people who cut themselves are not emo. Their suicidal, ok? so people should get that straight. Especially that Jessic H girl who put up that link. It's a load of bull. Oh let me just note that My chemical romance are an emo band that do not encourage self harm and have never done so in anyway.I think that the media is all on their case just coz their different, and apparently ppl are afraid of what they don't get so they're trying to put 'em down. Their an amazing band with amazing music and loyal fans (me being one of them). So in conclusion if you're a good person and intouch with your feelings and u so coincidently happen to wear coverse, vans, black nail polish, black eyeliner, and listen to emo music. Then your 'emo'. But don't lable yourself! Labeling is bad. Peace out.

I think being emo is a state of mind you just cant wear black eyeliner and then your emo.it doesn't work like that ,emo means emotional and i think every one is emo ,but when it gets to the point of cutting yourself know you have gone too far ,and turned to suicidal.
if you feel sad ,depressed ,angry at the world and calling every one a phashist pig and start developing a likeing for my chemical romance then your emo.
