Home owners associations are necessary to maintain value to your home, believe me!! I really thought this was stupid when I bought my first home. Three years down the line, our neighborhood was a big mess!! No one cared about keeping clean and it quickly became very trashy. We had people parking on the front lawns, old furniture like sofas junked in the front yard, it was horrible! I could not even sell my damn house because of the neighborhood. I am now moving to a better home WITH homeowners that seems much better taken care of.

i think they r crap. just a way for a group of people to exclude other people. people should be able to do whatever they want to their homes as long as it is legal and reasonable.
