Pittsburgh over Philadelphia on Thursday. Philly has been playing better the last little while. But This is the 2nd game in 2 nights for the Flyers and Pittsburgh just has too much speed for the flyers big, slow moving defense.

Ottawa has played Buffalo quite tough all year 4 wins vs 2 losses. Plus the 4 wins have been the last 4 games they've played them. They meet on Wednsday.Consider that Buffalo plays Tuesday night before in Atlanta (a first place team) then has to fly pretty well the length of North America into Ottawa and play in the Senators building the next night against a Sens team that will have been resting since they played 4 nights ago on Saturday. Sens should win at home against a tired Sabres team.

Wednesday, Chicago is in the middle of a long western road trip and has to play a Very strong Vancouver team. This game is the night after they play a very physical and strong Calgary Flames team. Chicago has very suspect goaltending and they aren't very good. Vancouver is just the opposite. Vancouver should be the third guaranteed win this week.

It seems to be a hard week to pick three games, but here are my picks.

Wed. Chicago vs. Vancouver. winner: Vancouver
The canucks are tough to beat at home and chicago is in a bad stretch going 2-6-2 in their last ten games.

Thur. Florida vs. Minnesota. winner: Minnesota
The wild have won 4 of 5 since the all-star break and I would expect them to beat an undermatched panther team.

Sat. Los Angeles vs. Nashville. winner: Nashville
How can you not expect a home win from the best team in the western conference when they are playing the worst team in the western conference

Here's my prediction: The Detroit Red Wings, the Nashville Predators, and the New Jersey Devils will all win at least one game this week. The Red Wings have three games this week and their chances of winning all three games are pretty good. Ditto that for the Predators, not sure about the Devils...

Flames will win on Tuesday night at home vs Chicago. 22-5 at home (best home record) and only 2 of those loses since October.

That's the only sure bet I would make this week (as the trading has begun!!)
