I have two £5 coins from 2003 and I don't know if I can spend them or not. I have a feeling they can only be used in Marks and Spencers but is that true? Or are they unusable - should I sell them on Ebay or will the bank give me money for them?

I would sell them on eBay. They were not made to circulate - They were intended for the collector market. If not in the original packaging, they should sell for about 10% over face value and about 50% over face value if in the original package. I would think you could redeem them at any bank, though, if you don't want the hassle of selling them on eBay.
Here is one (in the original package) currently for sale on eBay:
