My husband has done this a few times, playing football. Unfortunately it could take up to 6 weeks for the ribs to heal enough not to feel sore anymore. I think that because you can't keep them still (yep, you have to breathe), they don't get to rest. The pain will be there for a few weeks, but will reduce to an ache. Try to find a comfortable position to sleep in, and hold your hand against the area if you need to cough; this probably doesn't do much, but it will make you feel a little more secure.
Good luck.

That has surpassed off to me a honest few circumstances interior the previous also. I now basically write a good yet short answer and submit it. Then I edit it and upload more effective element so a minimum of no matter if it really is resolved interior the mean time I have my small answer there quite of completely having wasted my time.

Probably about 6 days before it starts to fade away, but painkillers can help. Sometimes supportive strapping makes it easier. Try not to laugh or cough, I can remember what it's like
