I live in Cali, Colombia South America.... I am also a Northamerican citizen. My question is how can I ask for a driver liscenes, do I have to do the course, present the exams, or only presenting my licenses from another country will work in order to get a northamercian licenses. Remeber I have a Colombian driver liscenes. PLEASE ANSWER IF YOU KNOW. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT BECAUSE I AM LEAVING TO THE US VERY SOON.

it depends on where you are moving to. were i live you have to read a book and take a permit test then take a driving test to get your liscense. in some places you have to have your permit for a certian amount of time (like 6 mo.) but that may be different if you have already had a liscense in a different state or country.

is there an american embassy nearby that area that you can check with,i would think they could answer any type of question..if not try the dmv website
