Is it worth it for a 13-year-old (me) to work (babysitting, etc.) to buy a MacBook? I really don't like my Windows XP and want a laptop.

I'm not asking if I should babysit. I already have a babysitting job that pays $10 per hour. I'm asking if a MacBook is a good investment.

It will probably take like a year to make enough money.

Two things you need to know. Mac'c are more for industrial use, mainly for multi-media such as graphic design, video editing, photo editing, sound editing, and bunch. Most of what your paying on a Mac is to meet most industrial standars, which you might not even use if you just use it for regular use.

On the other hand PC's is more for a regular consumer use, that's why it's called a Personal Computer (PC). PC's can be costumized to your personal needs, even industrial needs such as mentioned above, just like a regular Mac. However, to get a PC to run like a Mac, it might cost you a bit more money on upgrading hardaware and software, and therefore would recommend to get a Mac. However, if you just gonna use it for regular home use, but are not happy with your current PC, you might want to consider upgrading a few things:

1 )RAM

2) Processor

3) Mother Board

4) Operating System

However you might take other things in consideration in order to have your PC running better. You may have execive or unecessary softwate or applications running on your PC with you even knowing, most of them run in the back end of your computer. Try doing a disk clean up every now and then. Another thing that can slow up your computer could be fragmentated files, and therefore you would need to defrag those files. Battery lifetime is also another thing can slow up your computer that most people are unaware of. I'm sure this might help improve your PC's preformance and determine wether you need a Mac or a PC.
