I'm in the Poconos area currently... I'm thinking of Mystic, CT... Does anyone have any other ideas? The more specific the better!

hmmm... sorry for the lack of details.

We like to be busy, and cities are fine, but we're not much for shopping. We're more like dinner & a show people. New York is okay, but we've done that quite a few times.

We'll be traveling mid June 2007.

I'm not sure if you've booked anything yet, but you can get some good ideas on weekend getaways and daytrips specifically in the Northeast from a site called EscapeMaker.com. Also if you want to travel by train/bus, this is a good website to check out.

It all depends on what you are looking for and what time of year you are looking to go.

1) Burlington, VT area. Visit the Vermont Teddy Bear Company, The Ben & Jerry's factory. Hang out in a college town that has a pedestrian mall and is friendly to locals. Go skiing in the winter or hiking in the summer.

2) Boston, MA. I like cities, so I would check it out.

3) Catch a play in NYC.

4) Go to the Crayola factory in Easton, PA (about an hr north of Phila) and catch a play in Philadelphia or go to a club.

What kind of thing are you looking to do? What time of year do you plan on going?

*****I would check out Burlington, VT. It's city like enough to explore w/o feeling overwhelmed. There are shops, there are cool outdoor restaurants (at the pedestrian mall) to people watch. You can take a hike not far from Burlington. Basically, it's small enough that you won't feel like you missed something without being so big that you feel like you haven't seen a thing. I hope that makes sense.

For what time of year. Most of the New England touristy stuff is shut down this time of year, I suspect the Mystic Seaport is closed up tight this time of year.

What about going to Boston, take in a show, some shopping, dining? Assuming your into city vacations?

10-13 is the appropriate age for Disney international and extensive-unfold topic parks. relatively 13 is boarding on slightly to previous, relies upon on the adulthood point of the 13 yo. If the 13 yo thinks they're relatively 21, then they are going to be a undertaking regardless of the place you bypass. teenagers those a while can shelter the walking/waiting and so on in touch with a topic park, yet they nonetheless get excited with the characters and so on.. teenagers that age prefer to be entertained. topic parks entertain them.

Check out one of the ski areas like Killington or Mt. Snow VT, they usually have alot of stuff going on even in the summer, like concerts and bicycle races etc, and of course the surrounding areas.
