Most hard bound books are sewn. It has been the way to make books for centuries. Get a book from the library. Pictures are much more helpful than text for something like this. Also, get some good cotton rag paper. It won't tear as badly as wood pulp paper.

There are several different ways to 'sew paper together' like a book, and I can't 'teach you' to do this via the 'net. You should take a class in 'bookmaking' or 'bookbinding' ... a class that will 'teach you' how to 'sew paper' and also to make good 'covers' and how to 'bind' it all together into a book. I think it's really COOL too!
