It seems to be worth about $1500 to $2500, depending on age and condition. Possibly considerably more, if in almost mint condition, it's working and/or if it is an earlier one.

There are collectors of both soda/pop collectibles and of the machines. They're not always the same people but I did notice some vendolators on ebay today, and one seems to be a Dr Pepper machine, one is for 7up.

Perhaps you could email one of these sellers and without asking what your machine is worth, ask how much you'd have to pay to get one just like it and ask if they have one available. Or if they know where you can ask around about it.

Here's the Vendo company website--maybe ask a historian or archivist there?

The Kovels sometimes include the machines in their price guides/ books called Kovels Guides, based on actual auction sales prices for collectibles in the US.

No, they should not be banned. The government's role is to protect life, liberty, and the citizen's property. It is not any of the governments business what you do outside of these three things. Banning vending machines would be Totalitarianism, which is basically the same thing as communism and Nazism. The government has no right to tell the schools they cannot put soft drinks in the public schools. LET PEOPLE BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THEMSELVES, PEOPLE!!!
