how can i speed up bit torrent downloads?

i have got a broadband connection but downloads are very slow

Try limiting your ul speed. they work in conjuntion with each other. the faster you ul, the slower you will dl

it also depends on who is ul it. if their speed sucks you will not dl it fast. if there are a lot of ppl downloading it will slow it to. 1 person seeding @ 50kbs and 50 ppl downloading = each person dl'ing at 1 kbs. do the math, and wait for several seeders with 100%

I'd probaly stop using bittorent if you dont have a decent upload speed, I also used to have slow speeds on torrent so I've switched to Ares Ultra it has more content and is alot faster.

Try not to download too many files at one time.

Also if you are watching video or TV on your PC, your downloads will be slower.

And finally, your download speed is limited by the upload speed of th e seeders. If they're lsow getting it to you, you'll be slow getting it onto your hard disk.

if you have a wireless router, setup port forwarding.

this will enable any incoming data (bittorrent downloads for example) to smoothly pass through the router and to your pc.

if you do not have a router, then you may need to change settings in your firewall software to allow the connection through.
