I think most liberals believe in a persons choice, I would never want to actually have an abortion but respect another persons choice to do so if they want. Tookie Williams?? Never would've heard me stick up for him.. I think very few liberals would actually make some sort of effort to support him. And the ones that do are merely against the death penalty, not actually supporting murderers. The media seems to portray the whole on the actions of a few individuals. I wonder often why Cindy Sheehan and Sean Penn constantly make the news when their views go beyond the mainstream of Liberals in general..

You might want to rephrase the question using the word "people" instead of liberals. Not all liberals support abortion and not all conservatives oppose it. Also, what is the relation between abortion and Tookie Smalls? It almost sounds like you are trying to bash rather than to come to an understanding.

You need to look up the definition of abortion - it is not killing babies - it is a medical procedure to terminate a pregnancy, and it's illegal to do so after the first trimester. A fetus doesn't become a baby until it can survive without its host. Since you are a guy, you don't get a say so on the matter, since you won't ever have to choose. So, shut up about abortion.
As for capital punishment - that is the killing an actual living, breathing human being - it doesn't deter criminals from committing violent crimes, and that is evident by the number of violent criminals in the prison system.
I am not a liberal, I just have an open mind. You should try it, you might learn something outside of your narrow-minded way of thinking.

First off I support the death penalty as well as abortion. But you can turn around and say the same thing the other way why do conservatives support the death penalty yet say abortion is murder. There is a distinction between the two. I don't think it is hypocrtical to have either the usual conservative or liberal stance on this one.

abortion- no final empirical proof that all of it is murder, it's mostly opinion. Personally I think the guidelines set by Roe v Wade are fine, no need to add or take away from those guidelines

Tookie- ummm that's really not true either. Some (Wasn't just liberals) thought that because of the things he did in jail (writing children's books, mentoring, trying to get kids away from gangs), he should have been spared. Personally, for helping found the Crips, I think he deserves death.

I just don't get your over-generalizations.

I do not support abortion. I support a woman's right to decide for herself (as opposed to having it dictated by governmental officials who have never met her) whether or not to have a baby.

And Tookie Williams deserved to die.

See... I am not a hypocrite like most Republicans are. Most Republicans claim to be pro-life, but don't give a rat's a** about the kid once it's born. Most Republicans claim to be pro-life but celebrate when an American soldier brings disgrace to his fellow soldiers by raping and murdering a woman, or murdering children, in Iraq. Go ahead - disapprove of my bringing that up. But it happened, and you guys thought it was just peachy. So don't give me all that crap about loving all life. You love the lives you approve of. That's hypocrisy.

You can throw this "question" right out the window as it is clearly a biased, gross generalization. I, a left leaning Independent, NEVER supported Tookie Williams.

Because they do it in the name of rights. The baby has a right to die because the woman can choose that option. A murderer has a right to live but that murderer took the rights of those he killed. They are for rights, just the wrong ones.

I don't see how anyone could support abortion. The doctors let the little things die right there on the spot or kill them right then.
I have heard it takes a while for some of them to die.
Could any one of you kill something like that. I know I could not.

I don't support abortion, and I've never heard of Tookie Williams, so it would be hard for me to support him.
