She got me a Wii and some extras. I got her a white gold/sapphire neclace that looks like more than the $140 price tag. Unfortunately I'm broke at the moment. Any ideas?

I'm actually in the same boat as you. I'd go buy some roses from a grocery store first of all. They're always cheaper there. Give her a sentimental gift. They like them better than the expensive ones anyways. Like one year, I gave my girlfriend a movie ticket stub from our first date. She loved it.

What ever you do ... do not ever associate your worth in a relationship based on the monitary gifts you give; the love and attention you put into the relationship is far more valuable. Valentines day is to show the love for each other with time, thought, and actions --- money / gifts should be one of the last considerations.

1. Be very grateful for the Wii --- shower her with kisses & hugs for her contribution to the day. When u get it --- don't plug it in and spend the rest of the night playing with it.

2. Create a loving enviroment. Think of stuff she says that makes her happy. For some this could be a room full of candles & nice music --- others rose petals with a white fury rug and sharing poetry --- still others would like a playful dinner like the Chinese Foo-Foo plater. Romantic is taking the past times you've had together and orchastrating a night full of surprises that you know she'll enjoy.

In today's culture, young women have more money than men. Parents usually give a generious allowance to women until she's married + she has a job ... the parents also teach the girls to giggle and coo over gifts making it that much harder on you (her date). Parents often will cut the man off at 18 years old. We wonder why women can't find a good man --- well, it's cas the parents often have set the standard so high, she'll never find reality.

You need to bring her to your reality - Mom & Dad hold you responsible for your life; and you should be teaching her to wean away from the parents too ... teach her that gifts are valuable, but you're more valuable. Taking leadership (without abusing the leadership) is a blessing to your relationship.

spend some real qulity time with her make her feel real special its not about what you got her its about showing her exactly how you feel. a price is just a number and doesn't mean a whole lot. Quite frankly i would rather have a small inexpensive gift and have a wonderful romantic night with the one i love rather then a big expensive gift that says look i spent alot on you.

Your gift sounds very nice and unless she's superficial I think she'll like that. Would you could do is give her that gift on Valentine's Day and give her little small gifts everyday until Valentine's Day. Give her a card one day, then candy, cook dinner one day, then a stuffed animal, etc. So even though she might have spent more, she'll be getting more gifts and since they are small they won't cost too much.

Oh yeah, hugs & kisses are free!!

Who cares how much she spent or how much you spend on her, the holiday is suppose to be about love! Just buy a really sweet card add some of your own word about why you love her. That's my favorite part, not the gift.

Don't spend more on her just do something romantic. Valentines day should be about more than material things. Make her a romantic dinner and then snuggle together.

valentines day isnt supposed to be about how much you can spend on someone, its a holiday to celebrate your love for the other person. take her out to dinner, or better yet, cook dinner for her and plan a romantic evening with candles n such.

a nice card will go beautiful with the necklace you chose. it is not the amount you spend but the thought you put into it. girls love jewelry and the necklace you bought will be worth more to her than 300.00

Thats plenty enough!! Especially if it looks more then it was. Who cares about the price, its the thought that counts. If its beautiful & she will love it, thats what matters.
