Pretty much anywhere in the Great Plains is colder on average than Chicago. It's been double digits below zero for days on end in the Dakotas, which would put them colder than Chicago.

... No doubt about it, though, it has been VERY cold in Chicago too.

Unless you're inside, a skirt is probably a bad idea. It's much less cold than usual here in Chicago - it's supposed to be in the 30's and 40's over the weekend, and normally it'd be in the 20's - but it's still going to be cold.

I just have to say... I had to turn the heat off today. We had it on 73 and it was still too warm!

I know the rest of you are hating Winter right now, but it's been the danged warmest "Winter" in years here in Florida.

Before you think I'm being insensitive, I'm moving to Great Lakes in a few months, so I'm sure I'll finally get my "cold fix" I've waited so long for!

I lived in Chicago for years and it's COLD there but try visiting Montana or the Dakotas in winter, it's unreal. I imagine Maine would be quite cold too...

International Falls, Minnesota hit -32 the other day. Wanna move there? It is traditionally one of the coldest places in the lower 48.

Madison, WI was -12 this morning, but that's nothing compared to Duluth. I heard it was -21 this morning, with windchills at -40.
You know who hates this cold weather the most? My car! It sure was angry with me when I tried to start it this morning!

I know it was -7 when I left for work this morning. Wind chill of -26 I believe.

However - I heard Maine had -40+ wind chill.
