Please could you tell me why it is acceptable to make jokes, take the mick and so on about The Irish,Italians blondes etc etc but if we remotely comment on People of other Ethnic groups such as Indian,Muslims or Pakistanis or Blacks we are racist?? Are we not sick of treading on egg shells? This is meant to be a free country where we can speak out mind without having to be repremanded!

This is true. For example, Shilpa in BB was able to take the Pee out of everyone else's acsent, yet take the pee out of her and it becomes racist. The world is going mad. We have the right to our opinion, personally I don't open my gob anymore unless I'm with friends who have an open mind, you don't know who you'll offend. My husband is mixed race (and our little boy) and we can laugh at jokes about his race, isn't that the whole point of a joke! As long as it's not too offensive or racist.

Political correctness is a waste of time and a drain on society. Sure, you shouldn't be rascist but you got to able to laugh at yourself and the world/people around you. All humor is about making fun of a person(s) or event. Why can New Orleans' mayor be more or less ignored for saying that he wants a "chocolate city", when I'd be tagged a racist for saying lets turn my town into a vanilla city. I really like Carlos Mencia's, a commedian on comedy central, take on poltical correctness.

If its wrong to call an irish man Paddy, is it also wrong to refer to the rice fields in China as paddy fields. Think about this one, it`s got to be worth some points.

You can always joke about yourself and your kind. It's just not cool to joke about other people and their kind. Just like black people can say the n word but other people can't. Political correectness is just another word for good old fashioned politeness. You can speak your mind all you want, but if you're rude and disrespectful, other people have a right to speak their mind, and reprimand you.

they stopped us from doing this in the town anymore (i dont live here, but we hold it in a town down the road aswell) just part of our tradition. and it is not to be like blacks, they darken their face so as not to be reckognised begging for money in the festival, begging being illegal at the time
